Hi,

I would like to introduce myself, my name is Darrell Groat - known as 'Moose' by my friends - I was born in 1964 in London, England. I moved to Euroa in 2001, after feeling that Australia should become my home since visiting several times over a period of ten years. I now have my workshop and business on the land of my home in Euroa.

I have been interested in bikes since I was a child, encouraged by my grandfather, also an enthusiast all his life. From my favourite Chopper bike in the 1970's to my immense love of motor bikes from teenage. I became school friends with Martin Hagon, we shared a love of speedway that we used to attend at Hackney to our passion for grass track and Enduro - for years I became Martin's mechanic as well as his pal from the age of about 14.

During my racing career I have been a member of the Hackney Speedway Juniors…….
I then moved on to Enduro racing. Meetings held either in Wales or the West Country of England. During which time I pride myself on always holding a position in the top 10.
I then moved onto Sidecarcross - during which time we qualified for 2 x World Grand Prix in our first year of competition. In our second year we scored a point in Slovinia.

Since arriving in Euroa, I have won the Crown of Australian Sidecarcross Championship in 2002. - I also rode and completed the 30th Finke Desert Race in Alice Springs 2005. I learnt a lot from Alf Hagon himself while growing up with the family and felt a part of the team once I joined the staff at the Hagon factory. Where I worked for many years. I was responsible for the research and development of the latest mono shocks. As well as developing my own wheel building skills.
